ANTICIPATION - Portland Head Light has always been basically in my backyard yet this was my first visit for a sunrise. The sky was completely void of the clouds photographers desire for a dramatic sunrise. This was taken in the small window of time between when the stars disappear and the sun arrives. A time exposure allows the waves to be recorded as a smooth surface. If you notice on the left s...ome small rocks visible in what looks like a fog caused by the waves were washing up and receding. The rocks below the PHL were washed in light with a high powered handheld spotlight to add detail.
