Distorted Perception - At first glance this is a peaceful, calm looking daylight seaside scene. Actually it was taken after sunset on a very cold evening with the waves of the incoming tide crashing on the foreground rocks. A time exposure creates the illusion of more light falling on the scene than is actually present and causes the waves to be recorded thru a full crash cycle ending in softness.
